MAPPING OF LOCAL LEADING AGRO INDUSTRY IN 32 PROVINCES

The CSBC experts are working together with the Directorate General of Agriculture of the Ministry of Industry to improve the agro industrial development synergies between central and local government in Indonesia. The agro industry is defined as a priority industry that plays a major role as a prime mover of the economy. The determination of agro-mainstay industry is based on two aspects: a comparative advantage in the form of natural resources, as well as aspects of competitive advantages in the form of human resources. To achieve the industrial development, the Directorate General of Agriculture of the Ministry of Industry together with CSBC experts is carrying out activities in identifying the potential areas of agro industrial development and the preparation of a road-map in 32 provinces since March until December 2015. The CSBC expert team coordinates facilitates monitors and evaluates the working group in each province to identify the leading agro industry and develop agro industry priority plan. The method used to determine the local leading agro industry is the Exponential Comparative Method then it is analyzed using the SWOT analysis to formulate the Agro Industry Development Program Plan.
